Before we begin, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This provides us an opportunity to learn about each other and determine if we are a good fit. I have an office in Oakland and for those who may find it difficult to travel to my office, I offer house calls. During our call we decide what works best for you.
This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to better understand your needs and how I can best support you. We’ll end our first session with a plan for our next steps. We’ll take it one moment at a time, at a pace that is right for you.
When we first begin our work, we typically meet weekly. Our sessions are 60 minutes long. Consistency is essential for both building our relationship as well as making progress toward your goals. There may come a point when we decide to meet less frequently. Together we'll determine what is best. Because therapy is different for each of us, there are no magic numbers of sessions; we'll end when the time is right for you. During our last session, we'll make a plan for moving forward.
Even after we’ve met your goals, and decided to end our work together, issues may arise in the future where you would like some support. I am available to continue working together when the need arises.
